First Dire Straits and Meatloaf Albums

Ah. yes high house prices, I remember those, once. Probably the best reason for not coming back, oh and the price of beer.

The 70's when Man Utd did not rule the waves, like we do now!!!!

Yes, jumpers for goal posts and dustbins for cricket wickets, spending all summer holidays building tree houses and playing soldiers in the forest.

And if I remember it never rained in the summer holidays, or is that my memory going.

Marbles and Airfix kits

DO you remember the various seasons we had? The football season, then the cricket season, then the school holidays. Being bored for the first few weeks and the starting to panic when we realized that we we going back to school forever in just over a fortnight. When we got back there was the picture card season, buying packs of 6 football cards and swapping with friends or playing cover in the corner of the yard. Then there was the conker season, all the various ways to make your conker the hardest, either baking them, putting varnish on them or soaking them in vinegar! Then of course there was the marble season. Every year my mum would buy me a bag of marbles, 25 in a net bag. The strange thing was that every year she had to buy 25 more! I could never understand what happened to them all! Hands up those who lost their marbles!

Oh Yes, crystal radio's every one must have had that Ladybird book on how to build the radio.

I remember brooke bond tea had cards inside, butterflies, birds etc. Think I've still got them somewhere, must have a look at the weekend.

And too me the fish and chips are not as good unless eaten out of the Express and Star newspaper.
