Amazin is actually not so bad a tape as made out. The moog is right up there, and even Andy's vocals heard. But the lads were in pursuit of a major deal, so the tape was quietly withdrawn. The un-named producer was John Pantry, who had to deal with his first Christian production. The lads, taking advantage of a local pub - infact taking considerable advantage of a local pub, and all the beverages it had to offer, came into the rural setting studio slightly less serious-minded than John was hoping. Ish had lost his voice, and the discipline was at a much reduced level. but I quite like it. I do. I recorded the GB77 set that Ish did - his Praise Party set, which covered the same material, and it comes across quite well too. It's quite sweet. Stereo too.
Light Brigade is curuious. It was recorded in 1975, but some re-recording took place later - backing track-wise. The cover was changed too (detrimentally).
Same happened to Adrian Snail. He took two of his older albums and re-recorded the percussion and bass I think. So older editions of these albums are rare.
Unanimity: There is a reel of The Suite - a three movement prog rock thing. Really interesting, from which the "OK ... I ... I Live my life" section was lifted and transplanted into Now That I've Found. A couple of single were released too, one of which I have heard. They sound like the Beatles earliest stuff, low dynamic range, high noise. Quite bluesy, and pop-y. Juvenalia really.
The version of Benedictus on Ish's double album set is only half the original song, faded out. Song No 2 is the other side.
One of the Buzz freeby albums they gave away with subscription has a completely unique verion of Bartimeus. Better than on Penalty. Song Of The Last Generation was released as a single believe it or not.
I am just a Charismatic is surely the best Ish/ATF combo.
