Good idea Timey. Give me time to think.

Dom Dom, thanks for the considered reply, I don't get many of those! I work for the railway and sadly see the result of excess alcohol on the teatime trains after matches. I am not against drink, although I have been teatotal for nearly 30 years, but I see so many lives ruined by the result of drink.

It is also very brave of you to admit to being a Chelsea fan! I support my local side and am a season ticket holder this year, if there are any ATF fans in the Cheltenham area, I will be down to watch Huddersfield in September, maybe we can have a coffee (or something!). I too agree football should be a Saturday game not a Sunday as I am too busy Sundays!

I'm hoping to get to the Cambridge gig and be part of the hole in the wall gang at St Peter's!!!!

I'm also planning on Greenbelt for the Sunday.....the Larrry Norman Tribute being a major attraction for me!! I saw Martyn Joseph in concert earlier in the year and he was the first to tell me about it and that he was taking part, so I can guess which LN songs he will be singing, but what ones will you be covering, Pete? Also do you have any insider info about whoelse is taking part?

Perhaps members of this forum could make some suggestions for my two questions!!!!!!

Evening Maggie

Have to say information is scant despite requests for some more!

I will be performing 'The Outlaw' with Rob Halligan and Gareth Davies-Jones on Sunday evening sometime between 5pm and 6pm. It will be pretty much walk on and play so am bringing my little pedal harmonium to spice up Gazza's guitar part!

Apart from his Martynship I have no idea of who else may be playing.

See you there!

PB

I was there. It was good. I'd have liked even more music but that's me...

It was quite fun sitting up there in Centaur wondering who'd be on next and what they'd sing. Especially when someone you'd never heard of was brilliant (i.e. the lot that did "pardon me").

Paul.

Yep, I agree with everything that Paul said!!

What was the name of that group that did Pardon Me? They really hit the mark.

I just wish that they'd ended with Larry's last message to his fans, which I found very poignant , especially when I first read it.

Also, I think that if they'd included audio tributes from e.g. Kevin Max and Frank Black (Pixies) etc and had a few DVD clips from, for example, Larry's youthful, high-energy performance at Greenbelt 79, more recent concerts in Oregon, Norway and Portsmouth that would have been much more relevant than that Aussie (I think)recording in which Larry sings to camera, which I've always found rather nauseous and so untypically Larryesque!!!)

It also needed to be twice as long.........but even then there would be so many great songs that wouldn't have been able to be aired......oh, he was just such a brilliant singer-songwriter and performer, what a legend, for all his imperfections, bless him.

BTW, Mike Rimmer's LN Tribute programmes on Cross Rhythms Radio were truly excellent, for anyone who didn't catch them when they were broadcast just after Larry passed on.

Any likelihood of The Outlaw making an outing at St. Peter on the Wall, PLEASE?

Here's the link to The Outlaw at Greenbelt 08, performed by three young, handsome, tallented musicians!!!................PRETTY PLEASE?!!!

Must have been a long race! Did you have one of Mike's bikes?

On the beer point but off the subject (there's a first!) Why do football fans feel they have to get drunk to watch their team? If they are that bad - don't go!!

I don't get drunk, but I will admit to having a couple of beers in the fridge for tonight's Everton match (come on you Blues!).

It's a shame there'll be only one northern gig - Wakefield's a fair drive from Prescot, but needs must. I'm sure I'll be there.

I've tried - I've given the details to my local non-league football club's social secretary and I've brought it up at Supporters' Club meetings, only to get the response "Never heard of them". The social secretary has heard of them and seemed quite keen, but I've never heard anything more from him about it.
