FOXTON - THE FINAL FRONTIER
These are the voyages of the starship ATF. Whose 5 year, 10 year...35 year mission is to go strange new worlds and small villages off the M11 and rock them.
To baldly (no,no, not yet,) to boldly go where no rock band has gone before.
Checking my co-ordinates I managed to arrive after the crew of ATF had been beamed down and received a cordial welcome from Lt Uhura processing security.
First off had a vivid time travel experience as I was hurtled back to the mid-70's with an excellent few numbers from SOC. I even got the Pilgrim call in first ( I have many previous offences my lord). Since I have made it an absolute rule never to watch a tribute band- these fellows will be my only exception.
With Captain Peter Banks leading on the bridge with first officer John Russell- guitar playing 'entirely logical, entirely rocking'. His still luxurious barnet covering the tips of his pointed ears. Played just like Hendrix, well left-handed anyway.
On stage phasers were on stun as we got a superb set, marked by energy and fun. Seemed to meet their old modus operandi - value for money. I'll let others detail the set as I was too busy enjoying it. Great sound and atmosphere.
The next generation- 'Scotty' on drums keep the engines pumping, can't wait till he grows into the full size model. The distinguished, regal (ok grey) Mr N.Chekov kept the beat moving and the energised Roberto Sulu Halligano served up some piquant tasty sounds to prepare our palates for the later desserts.
The unseen crew of the ATF had worked hard to ensure we got our lengthy treats- thank you.
The band should be rightly pleased with this one- difficult to be surpassed.
Until the next episode - Rod Williamson
ps I even sold a copy of book-- plug (England Expects Yet Again £8 Waterstones / Amazon etc)
