Well, I first saw ATF perform at Greenbelt 1977, but I'm pretty sure that
I'd already got SoC beforehand because I'd seen Andy and Ishmael
perform locally and then they came to lead a youth weekend at our
church. Both occasions were very memorable and full of fun, so I think
that I bought SoC initially because of interest in the Andy Piercy
connection.

Anyway, I immediately connected with their sound and their performance
at GB did not disappoint!! (Phew, because I can remember telling different
people that I met up with at GB that they really must check out the ATF
"set", even though I'd not seen them perform live.)

I then saw them live at a gig In Norwich soon after that GB. I remember
that it was rather loud for the size of venue and my ears buzzed for
ages!! After that, apart from buying their LPs as soon as they were
released, I didn't see them perform again until I was playing about on the
internet and googled them (and other favourite artists e.g. Larry Norman)
on the off-chance that there might be some info about them. I was
amazed to find out about this web-site and that they were doing a gig in
a Bedford park. So I went to see them, along with a couple of other
friends (and fellow fans) from church. It was a different kind of venue and
seemed a bit surreal, but it reintroduced me to that great music again.
How could they still play so well, after all that time? So I had to dig out
the LPs again and then bought the CDs!!

They just kept on getting better each time I heard them after that, having
heard them at several different venues, and I really appreciated the
services at St Peter on the Wall where some of the band members
participated in playing very moving songs in such a fantastically evocative
setting.

Ian and Matt, followed by Tim and Rob are really great 'new' members of
ATF and fit in so well with our two dear original maestros. ATF was just a
great band all those years ago, but now they're still that and so much
more because they are 'people' now !! (If you see what I mean!!) And I love
the fact that Rob is able to play his great songs with them and that there
is new ATf material to listen to. There's been something fresh (in some
way or another) at each performance that I've been to. Can't ask for much
more than that and I'm so grateful that they (and the crew) still put such
hard work and energy into performing for us, with no financial gain!!

I'd better stop before you suspect that I'm on their non-existent payroll!!

Thanks for expressing that Maggie.

I feel the same though not managing to verbalize it.

(We were in Bedford Park too!)

I hope you weren't knitting or doing cross-stitch, as some ladies were!! (I
suspect they may have been spouses dragged along by their husbands!!)
Whereas I dragged my husband along and put him on camera duty.

No, I'm very selective where I knit, such as when 'watching' complicated things on television when I have to keep asking what's happening

I was still amazed at seeing ATF live again (only the second time - we went to the Stafford show) and my attention was riveted to the Bandstand - very alternative venue?!

Are you insinuating (or should that be incinerating, as this is, after all an
ATFire site!!) that I WAS in jail!!

RESPECT!! Let me hasten to assure you Seagull, that I am no jailBIRD!!

Now, why didn't I get that that neat little box around your quote, Seagull?

You'll have to post some idiot-proof instructions for my benefit!!

The only good thing about Andy Murray losing to Nadal is that now I don't
have to strive to post a quote in blue and white!!

The blue would have been hard enough for me to achieve, but the white was
freaking out my poor little brain cell!!

Alright, Maggie, I obviously should have said "a get out fo jail free card", just in case Zippy should send you there. Preferably a fireproof one.

As for the box, I've no idea.... Some things on this forum seem to act on an illogical whim -or maybe even intelligence...., such as the spam warnings that we love to hate so much! I would never presume to suggest that you require anything idiot proof!

White on white ? - that's even worse than yellow on white! Such a relief for your brain cells

Oh, where have I been for sooo long !?

No, not snoozing, I have had the landscape gardeners in for 2 weeks, I have spent the last week potting plants, and now I am cleaning mud out of the house, it is everywhere. But am very pleased with my new garden. I have been using my camcorder to record the progress and will post the before and after on FB if anyone want to see. My cats love it.

Well, its seems you have all been doing well without me . I have missed you all. Things have been going on, Seagull will be happy that Germany had two victories, the Grand Prix and ..... won't mention the other sporting event against the lions, and they are still going well.

Andy Murray was out of the Wimbledon finals.

I went to the Biggin Hill Air show (first time in about 28 years!), it was fantastic, and loud. Came home burnt to crispy bacon and had to call the doctor for advice on how to cool myself down!!

Went to Windsor for tiffin with Queenie and cooked even more !

Have decided to stamp a ' Do Not Eat, Out of date' sign on my body in hope that the mossie will leave me alone!

Anyway, how be you all laddies and ladies?

Love Crispy Zippy xxxx
