Sorry Dave, only joking! It would be nice to hear it again. My favourite is still Take Me Higher.

Sorry Dave , I am in Malta! As ATF are playing in Bedford it seems appropriate to play Pilgrim as John Bunion is from there!
Last time I was there I was having a Bacon and cheese sandwich in the open air café in the market place when only 2 feet from me Rick Wakeman walked past with Ashley Holt. They were playing there that evening as part of the 'Out There' tour and were strolling about. I was gutted as I had a mouth full of sandwich and so couldn't speak without sharing the afore mentioned delicacy.
For the younger section of the forum, Rick Wakeman is probably the best keyboard player in the world (just a little bit better than PB, sorry!) and not just the blond haired fella who used to be on Countdown!

Rick Wakeman is certainly a darn fine keyboard player, but I have to stick up for Uncle Pieter of Benks who is much better at composing a tune! Of Rick's 100+ solo albums, there are about - what? - a dozen memorable tracks?! And most of those he wrote 30 years ago... no faulting his playing with Yes though, although, curiously, since he rejoined them about 3 years ago, they seem unable to record anything new. In fact this year, they're all touring in separate bands, and Jon Anderson has just put out a cover version of The Ying Tong Song! Hmmm....

Dixarn 2
Have you heard 'Out There' by Wakeman? It is back to his best from the seventies King Arthur era. Classic Prog rock, the DVD is really good with rare NASA footage. Typical fast keyboard playing and for a change lightningly fast guitar playing.
I always held Wakey and Banksy as the best keyboard players arround, no change there, 2 contrasting complimenting styles. Now if ATF and RW & New English Rock Ensemble were to do a tour with my old mate Paul Poulton, well I would be in heaven. Thinking that through, all three will be in heaven some day, I wonder if one Saturday night in eternity God has a Royal command performance ... ...

I haven't heard Out there, although I have to say other people have told me it's good too! I intend to grab the DVD if I see it going cheap!
To be honest, I think my previous comments about Wakey were a bit harsh - I quite enjoyed Return To The Centre of the Earth, and I'm sure there were a couple of good tracks on Prayers too (although I can't remember them).
Did you hear about him busking in York earlier this year?! I think it was done for a joke, but apparently he only got about 15p for his efforts!

I hear any contribution at present! He has announced he will retire from public performances after next year due to the abuse he got for playing in Cuba. He went as a musician and no more than that. see www.rwcc.com for the full story.
Back to the subject of Bedford and gigs, are there anymore plans for further gigs around the country?
