OK, ok!

An amazing gig - around 2000 people (some new converts out there) and pictures to follow shortly.

One Rule really got them moving - Samba drumers were outstanding!!

Massive thanks to all those who made it to the Island!!

The gig was really electric. Keith's performance was outstanding - superb, energetic & helped to create a brilliant atmosphere for those of us at the front. The band played really well (I am not a musician, but I thought this was another big step up performance-wise). It was a shame that so many in the crowd just sat down with arms folded, but I'm sure that like me many people thought it was great.

Thanks to all band members and fans who I met on the evening, making it truely a memorable one for me. Favourites for me were Forged With Faith,  Billy Billy and Who's gonna love you.

Who else was there. Any comments?

This link takes you through to a Mobile Video clip of 'One Rule' featuring Samba Drummers. The sound is distorted being in front of the PA speaker stack and the memory ran out!

Thanks to my neighbour, Terence Smith!

This was the second ATF2 gig in 6 days for me. The Bedford gig was great but I felt that I needed to see them perform on a stage rather than a bandstand,so headed off to Mersea yesterday!  The performance was enthusiastic ,very energetic and the sound was brilliant both from the mid-crowd position and in front of the stage, where you just couldn't stand still!!  I don't think the crowd knew what to expect or what had hit them when ATF2 struck up!!  I got the impression that most of the crowd went along for a sing-along, food, drink and partying, but I think the band was well received on the whole, especially with the younger audience. I don't mean to sound patronising, but even Pete said words to the effect that this was not their "normal" following and that they were certainly going to have to dig deep to work the crowd. So, well done indeed! And no matter what you feel, Pete and John, you still make it look all so easy!!!

Now, the bandstand wasn't a proper stage and the Mersea stage wasn't really big enough to do justice for the ATF2 performers and performance, so somebody had better warn Greenbelt that nothing but top of the bill and the main stage will  suffice this from this year and onnnnnnn...........

Sorry for the lack of banana cake, maybe at green belt!

Perfectly awesome gig on sat, nice one. I also saw some fan groups forming too.....however i dont approve of matt's little following!

Keith was superb, playing with the crowd like a pack of cards! Ian, smooth and great as usual. Pete and John....those old rockers still know how to do it!..........

.....and as for Matty, once again i was blown away and im very proud!

See you all soon,

Chloe x

We thoroughly enjoyed the performance & what a performance it was . The whole band has come on heaps since Soapbox - who's been rehearsing hard then ? I agree with everyone else - Keith was awesome & on great form ( Air on a G String ? ) , Ian had far more confidence , Matt is such a talented young dummer & Peter & John , what can I say ... I'm lost for words !

Shame that there weren't more " friends " there , but those that were really loved the night .

Lets not forget the samba drummers , with Charlotte & Sam Banks doing a sterling job on the drums ( which looked a bit heavy to me ! )

Favourite songs - ohh I need some time to think ... Life in The City , Who's going to love you ( nice reggae feel ) , One Rule ... well probably all of them !!

Look forward to seeing ATF2 again soon .

By the way " friends " if you haven't got one already , buy a fleece - nice & cosy !

That's quite enough about my G-String thank you! Personally, I think I've got the best job in the world working with ATF and I can honestly say that it was a thoroughly memorable and enjoyable evening - even post-gig backstage waterfight. Lots of thank you's;
All who came along to support us and sing along friends, family and partners.
The band for being so tight (musically)
Charlotte and Pete for the post-gig party catering and liquid refreshments (of which I, of course had too much!)

Best memory of the evening? Looking at the faces of the Poachers as we belted out Wildflower! and me being able to hoist my mike stand vertically without killing anyone!
Thanks one and all..............you wait till Greenbelt......this was just a warm-up!
