Peter - you will be coming all the way from NZ and ensuring that we're in the right place at the right time is logistically a nightmare, especially since we'll have to pack up the amps and drums and get them all the way back to Stafford...then there's the public performance licence...I think it's got lost in the post....

Tut Tut Vulpine, sounds like excusses to me. If Peter is arriving at London Heathrow on Friday the 20th, how long does it take to get the equipment to Stafford for the 30th? In the old days the band would have played at least 5 gigs in between, maybe more! As long as you only play music that you own the copyright and you forgo the performance fee why do you need a PPL? and surely no one is paying to hear you as this is a free gig! Anyway if transportation is a problem I'm sure some of us bottomenders could help out for the sake of our northern friends. See you all on the 30th, make sure Banksy knows the correct date!

Hmmm, Colin, thanks for reposte, missing the tongue in cheek bit tho!

Just a serious point about copyright, thopugh. ATF do not own the copyright of our songs (IQ Music Ltd do) and believe it or not we have to pay vast sums to MCPS even to release our own product! The only thing we do own copyright on is our performances as ATF post Sony/CBS days.

Anyways, see you up at the F.U.N. day, not free, by the way!

Still some tickets left on the WebShop........

Just in case you missed it on the other topic...

The venue for Friends Up North - Rising Brook Baptist Church Centre, Stafford - is very convenient and easy to get to. If your driving it's only 2 minutes from Jn 13 on the M6, so easy access from North West as well as Midlands, S West and S East. It's not too bad from East and NEast - via M6, A50 from Derby or across to Manchester. [Please note you'll make the M6 Toll before fee goes up in June!] Its on the mainline from Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool.

Directions to Rising Brook Baptist Church Centre

By car from M6:

Leave the M6 at junction 13 and take the A449 north towards Stafford. Continue straight across a mini island. At the traffic lights by the Esso / Tesco garage go straight ahead. Go straight through the next two sets of pedestrian lights and turn next left into John Amery Drive.

RBBCC will be immediately on your left. The car park is at the rear of the building. Beyond that there is also parking at a health centre which should be available by that time of day.

By car from Town Centre:

Take A449 south towards M6. Continue over railway bridge. Go straight on at the next set of traffic lights, then turn right into John Amery Drive.

RBBCC will be immediately on your left. The car park is at the rear of the building. Beyond that there is also parking at a health centre which should be available by that time of day.

By Train:

Stafford is on the main line from Birmingham, Manchester & Liverpool.

There is a taxi rank directly outside the station. Please note that weekend working on the track may result in coaches being laid on for some sections.

By coach:

National Express coaches stop outside the railway station.

By bus:

Catch the number 8 bus “Manor Estate”. The bus stops on John Amery Drive. (Staffs bus hotline: 0990 808080)

Yes there was somebody coming from South Africa and no I'm not coming.

The **** hit the fan in Malawi, so I'm flying up there for the next two-three weeks.

Sorry guys, but have a good one.
