Aw, Mick. Nice choices. Now you've started something. How can one resist a thread like that. Ok. From that era only? Maybe a favourite year. So, for me, 1979. My top five could be:
1. Mr G - Bill Mason Band (fantastic intro)
2. Song of the Last Generation - Ish United (rough and raw)
3. Can You Get Me Out Of Here? - Adrian Snell (don't laugh)
4. City Boy - Bryn Haworth (album version, single was different)
5. He Is Lord - Amaziah (my school friend was on a rock lp - i couldnt believe it)
6. Carrie - Cliff (love this)
7. Super Heroes - Writz (yes, i too used to air guitar this one)
8. Serve Somebody - Bob (remember the wonderment when he came over to the light)
9. Kingdom Come - Giantkiller (terrible prod - singer was Billy Penns Brother)
10. Life In The City - ATF (i'd just started Uni and this song was perfect for a lonely student)
OK, so that was 10. I don't know what it was about that year, but everything fell into place. The music exploded. GB had it's first R1 visit, and record crowd expansion. And ccm was hitting the charts as never before.
