Since there was some discussion on a previous page about SOC keyboardist - who may or may not be called Rod Stewart (I'm never sure with Zippy Wink

) - and who definitely looks more like Ronnie Wood - I wanted to ask: Does he play the authentic Hammond Organ and mini Moog like Banksy used to? I've only seen one youtube clip of them playing their eponymous song, which is great, but it's a wide camera shot, and the sound is rather weighted to the drums.

Hi Seagull - thanks for the interest!!

The organ is a Roland VK8M (a so called Hammond clone)
which has draw bars and a Lesley simulator built in (the
archetypal rotating horn effect).

The lead synth is a Roland SH-201, used because it's one
of the few analogue modelling lead synths around at the
moment and has a really fat sound.

A Korg X5D is used for all the other parts as it allows
for plenty of instruments to be layered and gives some
pretty authentic string and church organ sounds.

All told, the three keyboards provide between four and a
dozen patches per song between them (although if you ask
me some of the best patches are in the songs you haven't
got to hear live yet...)

No, really, I do find the detail interesting, even if its a bit over my head. I just love the phrase: architypal rotating horn effect - I can hear it! So how do I get to see you live when I'm light years away in Germany. Can't you persuade a friend to record more of your live performances and put them on youtube?

Are you the alledged (by Zippy) Rod Stewart, or is that information held only by "The Agency" ? Or are you really Ronnie Wood??!! Wink

Hehe - see what we can do about the recordings, but don't hold your breath - they're few and far between!

As for more live gigs, we've no idea when that might be. We still haven't got a full line up but if and when we get a singer/guitarist we'll plan some proper dates. Until then it's just not possible so if anyone knows a good singer and/or guitarist who might be interested in joining us please put them in touch.

Oh and yes, I'm the keyboard player if you hadn't guessed. You'll have to excuse Zippy, she's always getting names wrong. When the says Rod Stewart she probably means George Clooney, innt that right Zippy?

Seagull, The true identity of the SoC members is to remain top secret with the 'ATF Agency', but as Mr Clooney has confessed to being a member, he has been down graded to the Silver Surfer.
