For those fortunate enough to have been to an ATF1 gig back in the
day, which support bands did you enjoy?

I think mine was Canis Major at Borhamwood. Gorgeous female
lead. I liked them so much I bought their lp and 7".

top secret were very good they supported ATF a few times

U2 were an ok support.....but I'm with mike...top secret,really enjoyed them...off to see if any tunes on i tunes.

i had there LP at one point

the lead singer used to put a box on his head and sing through the hole like being on TV

I don't know who the support were at Southampton University, but the lead singer broke a string on his guitar, and chucked it in the wings as if he had plenty more.

Sometime in 1979, I think, I saw ATF at the limit club in Sheffield. In the crowd were all the members of Ishmael United (remember them) who had just done a gig in the city hall. I know thats not exactly what you were asking for but technically they were supporting ATF (very loudly as I seem to remember).

I do remember a support band called "Scruffy Dumpling", not for what they did, but just for the name!!!

You can also buy the Ishmael & Andy album Ready Salted on CD for Ł8. I thoroughly recommend this. It's essential part of the wider history.
