I you want real beer then probably the Dolphin but that is nearly 10 minutes walk away in Sydenham, Degs, but a number of those I mentioned are indeed proper pubs. Penge has a fine tradition for pubs because in the old days people visiting Crystal Palace would nip down for a swift half or two. I believe the Market Tavern aka the Dewdrop is or was used as a pub in The Bill TV series which I understand is set in East London.

Probably we have veered just a trifle off topic? Sorry.
