No, I can be certain it wasn't him - he made a guest appearance during Randy Stonehill's set on the Sunday but wasn't 'officially' there. In 80 or 81 he was on the bill and that was the famous "sermon with the occasional song" set.
Saddening to think I can remember that so much better than what I'm supposed to be doing tomorrow.....

According to correspondents on the GB forum, it was Meet Jesus Music (who?) with the Friday line-up being:

100% Proof
Barry Crompton Band
Harmoniser
Giantkiller
Meet Jesus Music

Paul.

MJM - that's right, I remember now. 'Easy listening' style music...and they all wore matching white jump suits. So I don't have any chance of getting the 'set'...but I think I can live with that prospect. Thanks Paul!

PS a spot of Googling reveals that MJM's Keith Routledge is now the music leader at a 'Traditional Anglican' church in London and still does the occasional recording of ambient/instrumental worship music, which was always his style. Long may he, er, amb!

Looking at that running order, it's a very mixed bag - 100% Proof were heavy metal, Barry Crompton was a folkie, Harmoniser have escaped even my random memory, Giantkiller were punk/new wave...and then MJM. I hope the Something For Everyone feel is carried on to GB09.....!

So, now it's over and it's time to wrap up this thread.
Highlights for me were Yvonne Lyon in the Performance Cafe (and again with Martyn Joseph in The Rising) and TWO - support for ATF in 2007 - bravely playing in the CD store to an audience of myself, Banksy and one or two others.
Also met several people I haven't seen in years, so that was good.
However, I can't shake the feeling that I'm just too old for Greenbelt - if I hadn't been chaperoning a 17 year old I wouldn't have gone, and if I'm not required to do that (or, possibly, mix ATF?) then I won't do it again.

You need to join the volunteers team, then. Free ticket, food vouchers, bit of work behind the scenes. Ideal. Been doing it for a few years now (underground/Stage 2 originally, now on the drivers team) and it really put fresh life into GB for me.

I mixed AtF at GB twice - your turn will come...

Paul.
