I would love hear if anyone remembered when they were watching a
TV show or Movie and they heard an ATF song in the background.
For me I remember years ago I was watching NFL football on CBS and
they were showing a montage of NFL highlights with the song
"1980-F" being played as background music. I thought that was
cool.

The only one I recall is that "Joy" was used by the BBC as the theme tune to a holiday programme.

Paul.

I am sure 1980-F was released in Germany on the back of "Na Sowas!".

Do remeber getting a call from my mate Dave to say the band was on Swap Shop.

Apart from the much commented on proper appearances I recall watching a naf ITV kids program that had Wild West Show as it's premiered single. The event is burned into my memory because the house dancers (a sort of poor man's Pan's People) did a dance which was modelled on Graham Chapman and Tery Jones riding into shot in the Holy Grail... it was absolutely hilarious, but, not a moment of cool for ATF's image.

Ah but did you see those tartan-clad girlies doing the Highland Fling to Joy (Pop Quest / Mike Read possibly???).
Years of therapy followed...

Joy was used in the East of England as the theme for a programme called Weekend. The band did go and do a 'live' recording of it along with Rich Boys for the Christmas 1981 edition of the show, recording at the Open University studios in Milton Keynes.

A couple of programmes with odd snippets that I can think of are:-

Back in the 1980s I recall watching a Tv prog about pirate radio, as they were showing the DJ at work aboard ship he chose to play Der Kommissar (funny how some things stick in the memory)

Then there was 1st September 2001 the Olympic stadium Munich what ever happens a night for all Englishmen to remember Germany 1 - 5 England, oh and as Gary Lineker in the MOTD studio handed over to Motty and Sir Trev in the stadium you can hear playing over the PA 1980-F
