Been meaning to ask for ages but why was the promo ladder album cover changed prior to release?

Andy told me that they were walking round the Royal College of Art at a time when they were considering a new sleeve design, and saw the ladder image on the wall. Alledgedly.

My understandng is that the 81 release was postponed when they changed labels from Epic back to CBS. The ladder cover has an Epic label/Cat No. Internal politics then delayed things for a year. When it was eventually released, CBS preferred to use their own in-house sleeve designer again.

On the subject of covers is there a scan of the original 80f artwork anywhere on the net?

The "Sternenflug" sleeve features the same picture which is on the CBS recordings.

I always thought the ladder design was only used for the German and Dutch market - never saw the other graphic here at the time.

The sleeve was the blue white photo of the band seen on the rear of classic BNI cover. As youcan see in this Googlewack I've just discovered:

Sternenflugger Joanne

$32.99? for the bni ladder cover on e bay?

Sounds well over the top.

Don't mind selling some of my atf vinyl for aidtf if anyone in admin/band fancies doing another auction.

There seems to be more people now so may be sucessful.
