James Weaver, he of Mandolin and Guitar at the Billericay
service, plus yours truly playing an acoustic gig on Mersea
Island on Valentine's day, Monday 14th Feb... set includes
a couple of ATF numbers ;-)

I managed to get to Cafe Musica and it was wonderful!  James and Banksy seemed to love every moment of playing together, and perhaps that was heightened by being amongst their home crowd (to me, knowing no-one, very friendly folk, which was much appreciated).  I thought their performances were skilled and stunning!  The show was full of enthusiasm, energy and lots of humour.  James played guitar, sometimes adding drumming, or his mandolin, and Banksy played guitar, harmonium or keyboard.  Their voices complimented each other very well.

A grand choice of songs, which included the great new acoustic arrangement of Time to Think, and I'm Not an Angel, both played at the Billericay service, quite a few Beatles songs, including Help, and (I think!) We Can Work It Out, Show of Hands' Are We Alright?, Dylan's I Believe in You, Joan Osbourne's One of Us, The Police's Every Breath You Take, Did Trouble Me from Tom Jones' Praise and Blame, and various others I recognised but don't know the names of!  Please will you post the set list, Banksy?

Thank you, Banksy and James, for a really great show.  Oh, and I love that shake-head-very-fast-from-side-to-side-whilst-wobbling-mouth thing!!

Jennie

Thanks for posting Jennie (and thanks for the set list too PB).

Maggie, I think you live in a permanent time warp! (amazed you ever got to Kingston ;-) )

I think the great Sharpies  Halligan Barn Storm is tomorrow (Thursday). Wishing you a great evening, Rob, Jennie, Zippy && all who squeeze in!

Seagull, perhaps Banksy will do that shaking head thing at an ATF gig (he may already have, for all I know) so that you can see it on a Zippy video; it's exuberant and very funny!

There were quite a few songs about love, dominion, as you can see from the set list.  (At this point I give a  and a x to my John, who didn't fancy the trip mid-week but let me abandon him for the evening.)

Thank you for the set list, Banksy; the show, and singing along, was such fun.  I wish you could have been there, gang     ^^ .  I'm so loving live music!   It's quite exciting journeying to far islands!  I was listening to music from Lord of the Rings, which seemed kind of appropriate!!!

Thanks very much, Seagull, yes, we are greatly looking forward to Rob tomorrow.  In fact, if any readers live near Cambridge, I think there's still a bit of space!  Please message us...
