Ok... you want a review of ATF at H3?
In my opinion, and for what it is worth, ATF stole the show! H3 is a relatively small but growing festival, but if you missed it, you missed a treat. The music at the festival is broad and varied, from folk rock to choral groups, rap and hip hop to grunge and soul... and just about everything inbetween and either side too.
ATF took the stage and instantly had the audience at ease and having fun. It was fantastic to see the whole crowd, young and old, appreciating the music and the talent but also the sheer fun that these guys have on stage.
This was my first After the Fire experience, but it will not be my last. Unfortunately I could not see the whole performance because I work at the festival and have to run around while the music is being played. The real review then comes from my talk with Pete and the rest of the band. These are some of the nicest guys I have ever met. Their love for music is only outweighed by their faith, and this shows in the way they talk and the way they perform.
They were an inspiration to the other bands that took the stage. They were an inspiration to me.
Sorry this is not more of a musical review! It is my first ever attempt!! Perhaps my career as a music critic should be put on hold while I perfect my technique.
Check out the H3 website. A video interview with Pete is due to be posted there soon along with photos of them on stage. www.h3festival.co.uk
Thanks
Jonathan
