Gutted that jetlag and fear for safety of other road users means I daren't venture over to Foxton. Dead gutted.

Look out Timey & Starflight will be on the roads from East Yorks so other road users be aware

I am really pleased to be coming and thanks to those who made it possible to cheer up a grumpy old bloke and his son

See you all later today!  I'll be wearing a Marshall amps teeshirt and ATF fleece.

Gosh, looks like I'm first to post a review!

In a nutshell... *brilliant*!  Highlights for me were Starflight (of course), Life in the City, Billy Billy, Joy.  It was also really good to hear quite a few numbers from "Batteries Not Included" in the first set, which we haven't heard live for a long, long time.  Would have been even better for Take Me Higher, but I think we might have earned that as a second encore if we had cheered a bit more.

The only disappointment was the lack of keyboards in the mix...

NO NO, ONLY JOKING!!  The sound was just perfect.  Great mix, perfect volume (and I speak as an ex-drummer who ironically always thinks that gigs are too loud).  Seriously, the best mix I've heard in ages, of any band.  Well done to all concerned on that front.

Venue was good as well - nicely intimate but not TOO village-hall-like.  Felt quite full from out on the floor (not sure what it looked like from the stage?).  Good beer to boot.  I'd definitely recommend re-booking it next tour.

Great support act as well.  I'll post elsewhere about that, and won't spoil the surprises, but suffice it to say that I'm REALLY glad we got there early enough to see them.

My wife came along this time, seeing ATF for the first time (to my 10 or 15 times - I lose count).  I enjoyed sharing a piece of my teenage years with her tonight, especially since I hit the big five-oh this year.  She thought ATF rocked, and I can tell you she is pretty damn critical of most of the bands I drag her to see!

Finally, thanks to Jennie on the door, who clocked my Marshall teeshirt and greeted me like an old friend.

Love and peace.

Neil

Hi Neil

Thanks for the post. Was eagerly awaiting news. There have been quite a few comments this year about how good the sound is - Thanks to the Block At The Back !

Oooh, whats the surprise with Signs of Change ?! Actually if spilling the beans will spoil it, then, don't tell me !

Glad your wife enjoyed the show. Have you converted her to a fan then ?!

No more jokes about the keyboards please (you're upsetting me !!   )..... I thought you mean't that you went to Halesworth Friday and you couldn't hear them !

Thanks for the post.

Zippy missing ATF !!

I  agree with what Neil said!

It was a truly excellent gig!  The best sound so far!

Thanks go all round:

- To Jennie & John for organising it so well and looking after everyone

- To Signs of Change for warming us up

- To Peter, John, Ian, Rob & Tim for giving us such a rip-roaring performance!

- To the rest of the people that made it all possible!

"Awesome!"

Pictures to follow shortly, after 457 miles driving yesterday I need a rest! :-)
