It was in the Christian Aid tent at Greenbelt 2005 that ATF,player coach,Peter Banks (patron saint of lost causes-see Dag. and Redbridge footy team) caved in the decades-long persistent petition for a performance of Pilgrim!Ok so he only played a couple of lines, but I hope he can now sleep better at nights, with out waking up in a sweat, with the Bunyan-inspired rock epic plaguing him.Not only that we had a slew of ATF magic in the intimate semi-acoustic surroundings, with ATF fielding ANY!! requests, incl a snatch of Gina and ,(atf historians please note) the only remembered section from Here on my Island. The band had just returned from a short blast on main stage, which certainly had been appreciated by the crowd.Old hardcore Atf were spotted(Mrs Leather strides for one)  edging to the front or creeping round mainstage.I did catch Mrs Banks in a fetching brown sou'wester outfit obviously geared for the elements as a festival veteran.Young Russel appeared to be playing heroically with a gashed forehead, until I was informed it was some kind of hairwashing mistake with one of his mum's hairdyes.Anyway he appeared to be responding to the younger bands and played at speeding tempo, bit of advice son, less is more and just keep an eye on the tempo and not lose the majesty of the music.Talking of his mum,I know its good housekeeping but Matt does not fit into his dad's trousers as they hang halfway down his backside.Nibs on bass, has thankfully stared down grecian 2000,did a storming intro to Laser, with a cocktail lounge interlude,as Bansky couldn't find any lead in his pencil, then he managed to kick start his Yammy 50cc and we were off into orbit.Wot no 80f,joy,etc?The singer did well but I am not sure about the saturday day night fever crossed with a gymnastic team fashion statement.nBack in the tent John(the Guildford Gurner) played an,entertaining acoustic Billy Billy solo that combined your local greek restaurant, john williams and a soupcon of les dawson, a far cry from the tour de force at Stafford
