For those who are interested, I'm the owner of the unusual African oil-can
guitar you may see Rob playing on this Autumn tour. You can find out more
via the dedicated website at www.playitforpakare.com, which has links to a
YouTube feature and a BBC Coventry & Warwickshire radio interview that
Rob and I did earlier in the year. Special thanks to Rob and the band for
supporting the project. If you'd like to show your support too, please just
send a message (I'm not expecting hard cash) to this email address:
playitforpakare@yahoo.co.uk. Muchos gracias amigos!

It's been grand playing it - check out Rob D's video of One Rule in Leeds

Does it play better when filled with the oil, or with the oil drained out? Either way, sounded good to me - great idea.

Hope you checked out the website? What's great about these guitars is that
the resourceful guys who make them never let social adversity or their
financial situations prevent them from making music - check out the young
guy from Staff Benda Billili (Congo) who invented a one-string instrument
that he plays like Hendrix. Thanks for the post

When I read about an "oil-can guitar" on this thread, I expected a 40-gallon oil drum with a guitar neck.  Quite relieved to see tonight what it really was.

Actually sounded good, too.
