There were a few surprises, like Razorlight, one or two lows (Slopp Boggy Bog, Mariah Hairy), but lots of highs - too many to mention. 

Top marks to Sting for the clever twist on Every Breath You Take, which must have had a few of the G8 guys squirming.  I have to say, music aside, the biggest high for me was the stroke of genius which was bringing on that African girl after 20 years.

And although I don't care for the aforementioned Miss Hairy, the African Childrens' Choir were great too, especially that little lad who got all shy - I'm not surprised, in front of so many people!

Dave Gilmour was never Mr Charisma on stage. Top player, but slightly lacking in stage presence.

Having said that, I saw him smile....TWICE...so it must have been going OK!

Loved the set but thought waters looked a bit "twitchy".

Very disappointed that the BBC decided to not show the videos
between acts because they might have been 'political'. Wasn't

Pink Floyd were fantastic (as ever) and it was unusual to watch the band and not the light show! Dido was really good, not being an EJ fan I did feel for him when Pete Doherty showed himself up on stage. Is it my age or did the old school show the young pretenders what it was all about? It was a pity there was nothing political shown but could they show a balanced view when it is a live show?
