Just a quick word about how things are going...

We now have most of the band and crew sorted and the songs are shaping up nicely but we're still looking for guitar/vocals. Further auditions are being held are 12th July.

We now also have a basic web page with info about dates etc (many thanks to Ian for hosting) and we should also say a big thank you to ATF for their help and undying enthusiam for the band!

We still expect to fill the support slot on their Autumn mini-tour so if you love the Signs Of Change album as much as us and want to hear it live for the first time in over 30 years keep an eye on the website for developments.

Will keep you posted!

Shame we are not playing Farncombe then!

This time we will be at the Wilfrid Noyce Community Centre in Godalming and I can confirm we are in discussions with 'Signs of Change' to play support at that gig.... please stay to see us too?!

Hi Marionette.

A few questions (I nearly emailed you viia your website or sent a PM here, but I think there may be other members who are interested in the answers to these questions):

Are you still looking for a guitarist and singer? (I'm not applying, I hasten to add - the drums were my instrument, and I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket!).

You play mostly Signs of Change. If you got a private booking would you be prepared to play later ATF stuff (the ones they usually play on stage)?

If the answers to those questions are what I'm hoping for, are you available for a private booking in early November, the week before ATF's autumn tour begins? As it's before your support slot begins, it could be an ideal warm up. The problem is that it's a Friday night in north west England (I don't know where you're based) and you may have a rehearsal the next day.

The booking is for my 50th birthday. The reason I've asked these questions publically is that I suspect most ATF fans are about the same age as me, and they may have similar plans to mine. The venue is already booked (but may need to be cancelled if my luck finding a group doesn't improve) and I'll be paying for the group so you don't  need to worry about ticket sales. Your only expense would be transport and I'm confident you'd clear more than 2.85 GBP per person.

Please answer questions in this thread in case they're of interest to other members, and contact me privately to discuss a fee if you're able to do it.

Hi Mark, thanks for asking!!

Let's take your questions in order...

Are you still looking for a guitarist and singer?

Afraid so, they’re surprisingly thin on the ground but we’re advertising everywhere we can think off. As before, if any of you know someone who might fit the bill let us know!

You play mostly Signs of Change. If you got a private booking would you be prepared to play later ATF stuff (the ones they usually play on stage)?

We’re doing Signs of Change mainly because we’re all prog rockers at heart and we got so fed up with ATF not playing the really good stuff that we thought we’d do it ourselves but that doesn’t mean we don’t like the later stuff like Laser Love and Little Sun! We’ll cover anything :o)

...are you available for a private booking in early November, the week before ATF's autumn tour begins?

We’ll certainly consider it once the band line up is complete (subject to diaries being free obviously!!). No promises but we’re not saying “No” just yet!

Please answer questions in this thread in case they're of interest to other members, and contact me privately to discuss a fee if you're able to do it.

No probs! We appreciate you asking us so thanks for taking an interest :o)

Keep and eye on http://www.signsofchange.co.uk for the latest info about us, we’ll try to keep it up to date.

Once we know where we're at line-up wise we'll get in touch but don't put any plans on hold waiting for us. Assume that we can't do it and you won't be disappointed!

All the best

M

Excellent! The party's not cancelled yet then.

I'd be happy for you to do some Signs of Change stuff, but if you don't do Der Kommissar, Laser Love and Life in the City I'm not paying!

I'll carry on investigating alternatives in case you don''t find a guitarist and singer.

Hi Online Genie,

You know what! It might be worth getting in touch with Banksy through the
forum to see what the feasibility of getting the real thing for your do would
be. He's on holiday right now but will be back mid August.

The only thing standing in the way would be the logistics and the cost.

Worth at least inquiring.

John
