I also recall when R1 did old chart shows on a Sunday afternoon - They'd do "this week from 1973" whcih I recall as a great year and the show would just remind me of how much crud I'd filtered out. I still find looking at Now compilations from a couple of years ago instructive.

wee small hours and while I find her as a presenter incredibly annoying (doesn't always play full tracks, talks in stupid voices, keeps talking crap over songs that you want to listen to and, in fact, just keeps talking crap in between them too), the music she played came as something of a surprise: Jim Noir, The Hugh Trowsers Band, MuddyHead (ex-China Crisis)...
